Luxury

In celebration of National Poetry Day, here is a short poem written a few months ago…

Luxury

Draw me a line with your own free hand, it will never be perfectly straight.
Give me a line from your rhetoric, will it move me to contemplate?
It’s a luxury getting old, there’s only so much life money can buy
It’s a luxury getting old; spend it on living and not on a lie...
